I finally made some lounge/comfy/p.j. pants for Cole. They are similiar to the ones I made for Adison, except this time I actually used a pattern. Once again it was easy and I finished pretty quickly. Cole was a little less than thrilled to model them. I'm not sure why he was so hesitant to put them on. Probably solely because his mother wanted him to put them on. Anyway, after a LOT of prompting and a few bribes, I got him into the pants and snapped a picture of them.

Bath Time
Adison is 7 months now, and is really loving to explore anything she can. She's still a little wobbly for the bath tub, so we've been sanitizing the sink and throwing her in theh kitchen sink. She is so cute. She'll sit there and stare at it for a few minutes. Then put a hand down in it slowly. Then another. Then a big splash and she's off.
Memorial Day Weekend was.....memorable. :)
We had a busy weekend, but the best part was Monday. It's always nice to have Kevin home an extra day and just hang out. Monday was particularly special because it was the day we had set aside to potty train Cole. He was excited when we picked out his underwear last week. He was excited when we talked about it all weekend.
He was not excited when we put it on.
"It's too tight!"
So he was pretty moody all day long. To his credit, he did a fantastic job and didn't have any accidents at all. We had all these special treats and toys and Kevin got a new water toy for outside. Of course he was so sour about wearing his new underwear he refused to have any fun. Until the end of the day, when Kevin literally picked him up and ran him through the water. He was hooked. Here he is, running through like a wild man in his boots and his underwear.
His boots hold a lot of water, by the way.

Girl Time
Dad's at work, Cole's at Nana & Grandaddy's,it's just us girls. So Adison and I played with the camera settings. This particular one is on manual, Monochrome (which I guess is a fancy way to say black and white) and I punched a bunch of other buttons before I set the timer. Anyhoo....cameras are fun. :)
Apples & Pears
I found some fabric a few months ago, quickly fell in love with it and bought it. It's little apples and pears are so happy, they just remind me of Adison. Since then I have been planning on adventuring into the world of making clothes her. Nothing fancy or difficult. Just simple little dresses. So, today Cole is visiting his grandparents and I decided today I would attempt the dress.
After several mistakes and attempts to either hid them or fix them, a finished product finally appeared. It has oh, so many mistakes, but it is wearable! For a first time, I'm pretty pleased and I am already planning on what I will do differently next time. I think for one, make it with buttons on the shoulders, and make it reversible. I'm already anxious to get going, as the 2nd one should (SHOULD!) take less time.

Strawberry Picking
We LOVE strawberries! And thank goodness it is strawberry season here. Carine and her kids, our friend Lizzie and her girls and Cole, Adison and I all met at a local farm to pick some strawberries this morning. What a beautiful day for it. And the owner of the farm could not have been nicer. He got a group shot for us and we all loaded up.
I don't know what I'll bake with them tonight, maybe a crisp? Maybe dipped in chocolate? Smoothies?
Pretty Dog, Pretty Bed.
Since the dogs will be using my sewing room as their suite, they will need prettier beds. I found fabric a few months ago and am just now starting to use it. I finished Bou's bed last week while Cole was glued to our window, watching some work being done in our front yard.
Here is her pretty new bed, and clearly, she loves it. :)

Just the Beginning....
The 4th bedroom in our house downstairs has been claimed as my sewing room. Not that I do all that much sewing, right now, but I hope to, and soon.
Tonight Kevin had a boys night out and I had the evening to myself. A few weeks ago, I found some easy instructions for some lounge pants on the web. I've been dying to try them out and see if I could swing it. So! Once the kids were in bed, I got started. I have to admit, once everyone was in bed, I seriously considered watching TV, but I told my friend Dana that day that I was going to do it and since she has heard me say that a million times on as many occasions, I decided to follow through.
Step one: Rifle through all my unpacked boxes (since the desk is the only finished thing in the room) to find all my suplies.
Step two: Turn on some good music
Step three: sew!
I think I made a little mistake, but all in all I was really happy how the little lounge pants turned out. I put a little fabric on the onesie to match, and Kevin came in at the last minute to give me some pointers.
The finished product was a little too tight on Adison, so I'll have to make a larger pair, but it was so quick and easy I look forward to getting started on them.
Tomorrow or friday, I'm going to make some for Cole! (but not in pink)
