Memorial Day Weekend was.....memorable. :)

We had a busy weekend, but the best part was Monday. It's always nice to have Kevin home an extra day and just hang out. Monday was particularly special because it was the day we had set aside to potty train Cole. He was excited when we picked out his underwear last week. He was excited when we talked about it all weekend.
He was not excited when we put it on.
"It's too tight!"
So he was pretty moody all day long. To his credit, he did a fantastic job and didn't have any accidents at all. We had all these special treats and toys and Kevin got a new water toy for outside. Of course he was so sour about wearing his new underwear he refused to have any fun. Until the end of the day, when Kevin literally picked him up and ran him through the water. He was hooked. Here he is, running through like a wild man in his boots and his underwear.
His boots hold a lot of water, by the way.

Oh Sarah...girl...we need to talk! I remember so many of those wonderful planned moments when the child had better ideas than the parent! No, they weren't necessarily better ideas, they just THOUGHT they were better ideas! Girlfriend, we truly do need to talk sometime soon! You may have a "humbler" in your midst!
What is a humbler, you might ask? It in no way is a comparison to our child. It's simply a child that you will find God allows to put us in our place.
No, it isn't that we are wrong in our parenting ideas. Or should I say Ideals!
It's just the beautiful, brilliant, not always understood child, and definately one that let's us know they have a brilliant mind of their own, and they aren't going to fit into a compliant mode after the age of 3 or more...kind of humbler!
You are doing a beautiful job with Cole!
Hope we can see you soon!
Love and wonderful dreams and affection for your whole family!
