St. Martin - Day 2

We spent most of Thursday really doing a whole lot of nothing.

After our pastry breakfast (yum) we headed down to the beach. It was only 9:00 but the sun was plenty strong. I plowed through my book while Kevin alternated reading and snorkeling. We bought an underwater camera and he said he found a star fish and all sorts of other little fish. We would later realize we haphazardly put on our spf50, and we both have random, very RED blotches on us. But thankfully no all over burn.

We had been to the grocery store to get snacky foods for our lunches while we are here and so we sat out on the deck and ate our little selection of bread, cheese and nuts.

Then we hopped into the rental car to make a lap around the island. There is only one main road and it only took about an hour. The pictures are of some goats we encountered. I couldn't get a picture fast enough, but this was a mama, daddy and baby goat and when they heard the car behind them, both parents put their heads into the baby goat and started pushing him off the road out of the way.

We pulled off to take a picture of the sea; its' just beautiful all the way around.

We finished the night with another fantastic french meal. Kevin had filet and lobster, and I had shrimp in a creamy mussel sauce with a sweet potato side. We were one of the first customers at the restaurant and so we actually had a chance to talk to the host who told us he lives 4 houses down from our hotel and had seen us out that morning. He gave Kevin some tips on where to snorkel today. We finished the meal with a Caramel Souffle.

Carine, we're not throwing much french down. It seems painfully obvious that we are American and so they happily oblige us in English.
