St. Martin - Day 3

Today was a very special day for our trip. Kevin planned the entire trip, and he arranged for a boat to take us around some of the island hot spots that aren't accessible by road.

We met Julian, who owns the boat, at the pier and away we went. We started at a place called Creole rock, which you can see from our hotel. There's lots of fish and marine life there. Julian said (insert french accent) it's like an aquarium when the sun is shining down on it.

This was my first time snorkeling and it was really beautiful. We took lots of pictures with an underwater camera and we can't wait to get them developed. But there were many different kinds of fish, and all sorts of sea urchin's and coral.

From there we had a nice ride to a place called Tintamarre, a small island that used to be a landing strip. It's also known for mud bath's. Julian dug the clay right from the island and mixed it with water and you put it all over you (even in your hair), let it dry in the sun and then wash it off. It actually felt really good. Those pictures are on the water camera too as we had to swim from the boat to the beach, but I can assure you Kevin looked great during his mud treatment.

We ended our time with lunch on Pinel Island, where they had a few places to eat on the beach; then it was back to the boat to ride back home. It was so relaxing, and nice to get out and see a lot of the area.
