St. Martin - Day 1

Kevin and I had a rare uneventful day of travel Wednesday. We usually have a "discussion" or two anytime we take a trip, but wednesday could not have been more relaxing, even though the day started at 4:45 a.m.

Both our flights were on time and smooth and we arrived on the island at about 2:30.


After we picked up our cell phone and car rental, we got to the hotel and it was just what we expected. Kevin had done extensive research (he practically knew as much as the local who drove us to the hotel) and this little boutique hotel got rave reviews from everyone who stayed here.


Our room is on the 3rd floor, the top of the building with a beautiful view of the beach. The staff are so very helpful and kind, our first hours here were nothing but a delight.



We walked down the beach to a restaurant Kevin had (again) researched and had a fantastic seafood dinner. It was a great first night. And even though we only really had 1/4 of a day here, it already felt like a vacation.
